OBIEE Installation – Part2

After downloading the OBIEE11g files, unzip all the files in one directory, open the disk1 folder and click on the steup.ex. file (Disk1\bishiphome\).

It will run the system prerequisites.

Click next

Click on skip software updates and click next.

Click on simple install and click next.

Click next

Provide a directory path where the installations have to be carried out and click next.

You can provide a user and password. (Password: weblogic1)

Click on next

Provide the connectiong string, port number, service name and the schema which was created during RCU installation and Click next.

Uncheck the security update and click next.

Click on install.
This will take some time to install all components.

Once it reaches to 100% click next.

Click on finish to complete the OBIEE installation.
After completing the installation, the system will open the analytics window.

The default links for OBIEE11g
http://hostname:7001/analytics – Presentation Services
http://hostname:7001/console – Web logic
http://hostname:7001/em – Enterprise Manager

The default RPD is SampleApplite (default repository password is Admin123)

Open the Web logic Server 11g Administration console (http://hostname:7001/console)

Open the Enterprise Manager (http://hostname:7001/em)

We have completed the OBIEE installation.

OBIEE Installation – Part1

Installation of OBIEE version on Windows XP with 3GB Ram. I have used VMware work station to install the tool. The complete installation has two parts 1) RCU Installation and 2) OBIEE11g Installation.

Install the Oracle11.1.1.7 database with Microsoft Loopback adapter.
Download the required installation files from Oracle and unzip the files into the same directory.

First begin installing RCU bat file.
Go to the RCU (Repository creation Utility) rcuHome\BIN directory and double click on rcu.bat file.

Click on next

Click on create and click next

Provide the sys credentials with system host name, port and service name and click next.

System will check the prerequisites, ignore this warning.

Click ok

Select the components to create repository and click next.

Click ok

Provide the password for the schemas created in the previous step. (Password: admin)

Click next

Click ok

Click ok

Click on create

We have installed the RCU successfully.
