OBIEE 11g Null Values in Prompts

If you get null values in prompts like shown below


There are two ways to fix this issue, either you make this prompt mandatory by checking on ‘Require user input’ or on the RPD level by unchecking the Nullable option under the physical column as shown below

Dashboard Print Error – Page Number and Fmap Images – Error Codes: UH6MBRBC

After apply patch, there was a big found when we click on the Dashboard Print -> Printable PDF if we use Page number or images. This is shown in my previous article…click here.

To fix this issue, you have to apply another patch – from my oracle support. (Refer this number in the my oracle support – Doc ID 1913713.1)

This error is caused if you include page number and fmap images on the header or footer.

Installing OBIEE 11g Bundle Patch on Windows

The installation of the bundle patch is similar to

Patch 18818588 is the top-level patch and it contains all of the cumulative component patches.

Patch Abstract
16913445 Oracle Business Intelligence Installer (BIINST)
18841070 Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP)
18657616 Enterprise Performance Management Components Installed from BI Installer (BIFNDNEPM)
18841084 Oracle Business Intelligence Server (BISERVER)
18841078 Oracle Business Intelligence Presentation Services (BIPS)
17300045 Oracle Real-Time Decisions (RTD)
16997936 Oracle Business Intelligence ADF Components (BIADFCOMPS)
18841089 Oracle Business Intelligence Platform Client Installers and MapViewer

Download the patch and copy 18818588 file into D:OBIEE11g_HOMEOracle_BI118818588

And unzip all the files under 18818588 directory.

Set variables as below

Check for patch conflicts by entering the following command: opatch prereq CheckConflictAgainstOHWithDetail -ph ./

Installation Instructions

Unzip all the sub folders under main patch folder

You can apply patch in two ways

  1. Apply patch on all files and the command is opatch napply –skip_duplicate
  2. Apply patch on each file separately.

To apply each patch separately, navigate to each sub directory and type opatch apply

I have applied all at once.

If you have updated old patch like 17300417, it will roll back and apply new patches.

Post Patch Installation Steps

Check if all the patches have successfully applied by entering opatch lsinventory command.

Copy the BI Publisher Desktop32 and 64 files from D:OBIEE11gOracle_BI1clientsbipublisherrepositoryTools to


Remove the jsp_servlet subdirectory associated with Oracle BI Publisher (if it exists), as follows:


Start the OBIEE services (Web Server, Managed Server and System components servers)
